RGPS Tunica Returns With $200K GTD Main Event

The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) is heading back to Mississippi as Horseshoe Casino Tunica hosts the latest stop of the Golden Expedition season from November 10-15. Packed into six days of competition are 13 coveted ring events, headlined by the flagship $600 buy-in Main Event featuring a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool alongside the $250 PokerNews PowerStack boasting a $50,000 guarantee.

Can Tunica Shatter Guarantees Once Again?

Tunica has earned a reputation as one of the South’s most vibrant poker hubs, routinely crushing posted guarantees. When the tour previously stopped at Horseshoe Tunica in March for the RGPS Passport $600 Main Event, a massive field of 495 entries generated a $252,450 prize pool.

Tennessee native William Latta captured the ring and $49,110 after a two-decade pursuit of a signature poker title, famously defeating WSOP bracelet winner Kyle Cartwright heads-up. “There’s a lot of people in this poker room that have these rings, so it was a little bit of a bone of contention,” Latta noted after sealing the win. “Happy to get that off my back. This is just a hobby for me, so it’s nice to finally get one.”

This November’s $600 Main Event aims to match that momentum across three starting flights scheduled for November 13 and November 14. Surviving players will reconvene for Day 2 on Sunday, November 15, to play down to a champion. Mastering short-handed dynamics and deep-run leverage via ICM poker tournament strategy will be vital for contenders eyeing the top payout.

PowerStack Points and the Dream Seat Race

Another major focal point of the week is the $250 PokerNews PowerStack. In March, the Tunica edition drew 452 runners, generating a $90,400 prize pool where Cody Stanford bested Tony Wofford heads-up to secure $18,067 and an RGPS ring. The upcoming version features two Day 1 flights on Wednesday, November 11 (noon and 6 p.m.), before concluding on Thursday.

Beyond the $50,000 guarantee, players are battling for points on the season-long leaderboard. The top 10 finishers will secure packages to Thunder Valley, granting entry into the exclusive $300 Dream Seat Invitational during the RunGood Dream Factory Festival (November 27–December 3). The eventual Invitational champion lands a direct seat in the prestigious PGT Championship at the PokerGO Studio in January 2027.

Entering Tunica, Jesse Stephens and Derek Kerns sit tied at the top of the leaderboard with 70 points each, while Shannon Lee lurks close behind with 65 points.

Thirteen Rings Across Six Days

The festival kicks off Tuesday, November 10, offering a $250 Seniors Ring Event, a $250 Series Opener, and a popular $200 Tag Team Double Ring Event. Mixed-game players have two Omaha offerings: a $200 Five-Card PLO event and a $300 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament.

Bounty enthusiasts can jump into the $250 Big Bet Bounty on November 12—awarding $400 bounties once in the money—or the $400 Black Chip Bounty on closing day. The slate also includes a $300 Ladies Ring Event, a $200 Turbo NLH event, and Flip & Go tournaments. Budget-minded players can secure Main Event seats via $145 Turbo Satellites (1-in-5 advance) or on-demand Flip & Go satellites.
