Poker Player Lynne Ji Arrested on Stabbing Charges

Posted by

Poker player and social media influencer Lynne Ji was arrested on October 10 in Los Angeles and charged in connection with an alleged stabbing following an apparent domestic dispute. Ji, who has frequently appeared on prominent live-streamed poker shows such as Poker After Dark and Hustler Casino Live, is accused of stabbing Kevin “KGAO” Gao, her significant other who has also competed multiple times on Hustler Casino Live.

Arrest, Bond, and Public Denial

Following the alleged incident, images surfaced on X showing Gao in a hospital bed appearing to be in stable condition, though he sustained visible deep cuts on his arm. Ji was booked into a Los Angeles County Jail and held on a $1 million bond. She successfully posted bail and bonded out the following day on October 11. While exact details of the violent encounter have not yet been made public, Ji broke her silence on Friday via a brief post on X to address the accusations.

“I fully deny all charges and I look forward to clearing my name in court,” Ji wrote.

Tournament Background and High-Stakes History

Ji has built a well-known presence in the poker community as primarily a cash game player, though she has also competed in World Series of Poker (WSOP) events and other live tournaments. In a 2021 interview with PokerNews, she revealed that she first played at the WSOP in 2017 while still underage.

Her high-stakes televised resume includes appearing in four episodes of High Stakes Poker during Season 8 in 2021, where she suffered combined losses exceeding $300,000. However, she bounced back by booking a $165,000 win during a subsequent High Stakes Poker livestream in 2023. Her most recent appearance on Hustler Casino Live took place in April 2026—a session that coincidentally featured C Ye, a player involved in a separate recent dispute with fellow HCL regular Britney Jing.

At the time of reporting, PokerNews stated they had reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for further updates but have yet to receive a response. Ji also declined an official request for further comment.
